All by Myself

With apologies to Eric Carmen

When I was young
I used to hang with everyone
And eating out was kind of fun
Those days are gone
Sheltered in place
Not allowed to touch my face
My only friends in cyberspace
Six feet away

All by myself
I’m quarantined
All by myself

Hour by hour
The job is gone I have no power
Maybe tomorrow take a shower
We have no flour

Gaining some weight
From all the snack-food that I ate
While watching Netflix awfully late
Those chips were great

All by myself
In quarantine
All by myself

Hard to be sure
Fauci says I must endure
Getting infected though obscure
Remains the cure

All by myself
Don’t wanna be
All by myself
(repeat 12 times and fade)

  1. Marty and I just enjoyed this together, singing along with Eric Carmen on YouTube. She said to tell you it made her day.

You are really good at this sort of thing. Too bad there’s no easy way to monetize it.

Grateful, that we are not all by ourselves. . .

    1. Thanks for letting me know! I didn’t get much feedback so I didn’t know if it went over well or people are too freaked out to laugh.

  2. Fabulous. As usual. Now all that’s left is for you to sing it for us while strumming on your guitar.
